August workshops are a relaxed introduction into using essential oils and natural wax to create botanical candles. We will guide you through experimenting with the oils to make a bespoke scent blend before hand-pouring your own candle to take home.
We run weekly workshops in our Margate and store and will be launching a regular program at Hackney Downs Studios, East London soon.

Treat someone to a workshop — you can choose from an e-voucher which can be emailed on to the recipient or a physical voucher which you can pick up from our shop. We also have voucher gift sets, a physical voucher alongside one of our candles in a signature August gift box.

The average run time is 1.5 hours however it does depend on group size and how long people take to experiment with the oils and craft their blend. For private groups we can tailor the run time as required.

The candle is likely to be set enough to move after 30 minutes in the winter and an hour in the summer months. We can arrange collection at a time to suit!

A plug point and table for the workshop to take place around. We will arrive to set up 45 minutes prior to the start time and ensure everything is left as we find it.

We are happy to accommodate children from the ages of 10+ who are accompanied by an adult also booked into the class. The adult will need to use their discretion to give the child extra assistance as needed and manage risk. If you are unsure or have further questions please email us at

We can offer a full refund on your ticket if you cancel no later than 24 hours after booking your ticket only if this is 24 hours before the scheduled start of the workshop. After this period workshop tickets are strictly non-refundable.

There are two parking bays outside the shop, if they are full we recommend the carpark by the sea between the Turner Gallery and the Winter Gardens.
