Mistletoe Bunch
Profile
With its white berries and delicate pale green leaves, mistletoe is a romantic festive addition to hallways and doorways. Grown in the Kent countryside.
History
The tradition of hanging mistletoe dates back to ancient Druids who believed the plant brought good luck and helped protect against evil spirits. In Norse mythology, mistletoe symbolised love, which is where the custom of kissing under the mistletoe originates from. The tradition was continued by the Victorians as it was thought to symbolise fertility and romance.
Note
Mistletoe is toxic if ingested by animals and humans.
