Workshop Gift Card + Clay Plinth Oyster Candle Set
Gift someone a candle workshop experience paired with a physical boxed gift to open, this set makes for a thoughtful present.
August workshops are a relaxed introduction into using essential oils and natural wax to create botanical candles. We will guide you through experimenting with the oils to make a bespoke scent blend before hand-pouring your own candle to take home.
Our signature Clay Plinth Oyster Candle Set is our most popular candle — the oyster shell which sits upon a chalky clay plinth, is filled with plant based wax blended with our Yuletide essential oils for a grounding nostalgic festive scent or select one of our other house essential oil blends.
Each oyster set comes with a solid refill made specifically for the individual shell.
The set comes in our signature August gift box tied with orange string.
The shells are sourced from Margate restaurants and seafood stalls which diverts them from landfill, they then go through a multi-stage cleaning process which lasts several weeks.
Burn time 8 hours approx.
Instructions for refill
Carefully scrape out wax residue and metal wick sustainer with a tea spoon and then slot the solid refill into place so it sits flush with the interior of the shell. Burn as normal following the candle safety advice.
Candle Safety
Never leave a candle unattended.
Never burn a candle on or near anything that can catch fire.
Keep burning candles away from furniture, curtains, bedding, carpets, books, paper, flammable decorations, etc.
Keep candles out of the reach of children and pets.
Do not place lighted candles where they can be knocked over by children, pets or anyone else.
Never touch or move a candle while it is burning or while the wax is liquefied.
Don’t burn a candle all the way down. For a margin of safety, discontinue burning a candle when 0.5cm remains in the shell.
Place burning candles at least 10cm apart from one another, this is to make sure they don’t melt one another, or create their own drafts that will cause the candles to burn improperly.
Extinguish a candle if the flame becomes too high or flickers repeatedly.
Let the candle cool, trim the wick, and check for unwanted drafts before re-lighting.
Never use a candle as a night light or while you may fall asleep.
